Well, things didn’t quite go to plan last night. Stoke drew, Wigan won at Reading but Middlesbrough lost at home to Leeds. Only 6 points cover the bottom 7 teams and there are 33 points up for grabs, so it is not over yet.
Good result for the Hatters last night, beating Brentford 2-1 at Kenilworth Road. That is 3 wins out of the last 4 games and lifts us off the bottom of the table. Hopefully, Blackburn, Leeds and Reading will win tonight and keep the teams just above us in touching distance.
“The purpose of our preaching is not only to educate and inform but to see people repenting, believing and being transformed by the power of God. Ours is not simply to fill the pulpit or the preaching programme, but to point the unconverted to Jesus.”
Woke up this morning to the news that Tyson Fury beat Deontay Wilder in the big boxing fight. Not really into boxing, though I have developed a liking to watching YouTube videos of boxing knockouts!! But Fury is some chap, isn’t he? 6ft 9in tall. Nothing seems to trouble him. He goes into the ring knowing he can take whatever the opponent throws at him and just goes for victory.
This morning in church we are looking at an even greater Victor and Victory – the gospel of Christ. It points us to One who triumphed over sin, Satan and death to gain eternal life for those who trust in Him.
A disappointing result today. After coming back from being 1-0 down I thought we might have sneaked a win, but alas, we went down 3-1. Teams around us bit better so we are now stuck at the bottom of the table again.
John Dory’s on the Holywood Road do the best chicken curry and chips. Not too much nor too little. Well worth a try.
So how was your weekend?
Mine was pretty good. The Hatters won away at Middlesborough. It was our second win on the trot and moved us off the bottom of the table. Could this be the turning point of our season? Could we be heading to Championship safety?
Then yesterday we had a visiting speaker at church so it meant I wasn’t preaching and had the opportunity to listen to the Word from the pew. Mark Armstrong [SIM} preached from 2 Corinthians 5:1-10 on the hope the believer has. In the evening he was speaking about the work he is involved in. You can see a video of it here. It was encouraging to see how this project has taken off and the potential it has.
Muzei is a wallpaper app I use on my Android phone. You can get it at the Google Play store here.
Muzei blurs your background image so your icons stand out more.
You can change the density of the blur, dim the image and turn it to a grey image [see image]
If you double tap the screen the original picture in all its colour appears for a few seconds and then blurs again.
You can add different add-ons from the Google Play Store which have different photos on or you can choose an individual photo/folder on your phone.
You can also change the frequency of how often the picture changes.
Good 1-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday last night. Takes us off the bottom of the Championship. Could we be turning a corner?
This coming Sunday we are looking forward to having Mark Armstrong with us both morning and evening to share with us about the work he is involved in Zimbabwe.
Here is a video to give you a flavour of what Mark is involved in.
Why not come along and find out more. Services are at 11am and 7pm
